This Week: Kicking Off the Claude Mastery Sprint
Hey everybody, Darby here.
I'm fired up for the kickoff of our Claude Mastery Sprint this week — an eight-part workshop series focused specifically on mastering Claude and Claude Code for our businesses.
Quick note: we're also no longer accepting anyone into the AI Implementation Intensive this month, which is for AI-native operators and agencies meeting the hour prior to the sprint. If you're in that group, excited to work with you too.
This post is going to give you a taste of what you can expect to not just learn, but implement — and more importantly, how to think about working with these tools.
KEY... It's Not About the Perfect Prompt
Here's what I truly believe: as we go deeper into mastery of platforms like Claude, it becomes so much more about how to think, how to architect, and how to orchestrate the AI into being a powerhouse of a partner.
Knowing how to think with these tools, how to prompt, and how to structure your approach will get you far ahead of people who are just using AI like a glorified search engine — or worse, trying to over-engineer the "perfect prompt."
A big unlock for me over the past few years has been realizing that Claude is more than capable of creating optimized prompts and recipes for whatever outcome you're going towards. But knowing where you want to go with that outcome? Knowing how to refine and dial in a series of prompts, a series of agents that can execute on your behalf with the human in the loop at the right place?
That's the architecture. That's the orchestration.
It's knowing when to let Claude run with it and where you need to step in. But more often than not, Claude and Claude Code are going to outperform what most people are capable of doing — at a far-accelerated pace compared to trying to craft the perfect one-shot prompt on the first go.
KEY... The Power of Claude Skills
Let me point you back to where this specific thread started.
I put out a call for everyone in the sprint to share their business blurb. Ian posted his, and before I even realized it, I had trained Claude on the MarketSauce Blueprint recipe as a skill — meaning Claude now knows all the instructions for this particular outcome with a simple trigger command.
Literally: "Create a Blueprint for..." and then provide context.
This can be applied to anything in your business or life:
  • Sales and marketing campaigns
  • Operations workflows
  • Competitor research
  • Creative brainstorming and ideation
  • SOPs and training documentation
  • Hell, even a grocery list based on what's in your fridge
I use "skill" and "recipe" interchangeably at this point because to me, they mean the same thing: a series of sequential actions that Claude can take, iterate on, refine, and produce — without you needing to copy-paste and run prompts the old way.
Sure, you can still have conversations with Claude and iterate manually. But if you're running sales campaigns, doing creative brainstorming, competitor research, or any process you walk through every time for a specific type of project... the copying, pasting, and running individual prompts again and again adds up. It takes time.
When you set up your Claude account with these skills, it literally becomes a matter of voicing or typing a trigger prompt, providing context — maybe a link to a competitor, a document, a sales page framework you want to follow — and letting it run.
I can run a dozen of these simultaneously without touching copy-paste.
QUESTION: What Outcomes Are You Using AI For?
Here's what I want you thinking about:
Whether your business is email revenue optimization, creating training materials and SOPs, running an agency, operating your own business, working as a sales rep, or learning to use Claude more effectively within your organization...
What outcomes are you already using AI for that are still taking more time than you'd like?
Maybe you're bouncing between ChatGPT and Claude threads. Maybe you're still manually piecing together prompts.
Our first couple weeks of the sprint are going to dial in on exactly this:
  • Setting up your Claude account so it's personalized for YOU
  • Thinking through the architecture of your systems
  • Understanding how your Claude skills and MCP tool integrations work together
The MCP integrations are simple to add nowadays — especially if you're familiar with Zapier. You don't need to be technical. You just need to be teachable, willing to put this stuff into practice, and willing to test and experiment.
KEY... Grab a Pencil and Think
Here's the thing most people skip:
Take a step back. Grab a pencil. Some paper. Maybe a whiteboard.
Really think through the architecture of the entire system you're building or envisioning.
  • What are all the pieces that need to be in play?
  • What are all the tools that — if you were directing a human to complete this — would need to exist?
  • What's going to move the needle forward in your business?
  • What saves time? What creates results better, faster, more consistently?
Understanding the orchestration behind this is where the most impact comes from as the human operator behind these AI systems.
Call it agentic. Call it an orchestration of agents. Whatever helps it click for you.
NOW... A Bridge Metaphor :-)
Think of it like this:
On the left side of my screen is where you're at right now. On the right side is where you want to go. There's a wall in the middle — and we need to build a bridge across it.
As the architect, your job is to identify:
  • What you're doing now
  • All the different tools in your tech stack
  • What you need to accomplish (even if you don't know all the tools yet)
This bridge is what we're going to be building — and using Claude to help us build it.
We're going to help Claude think, modify, and refine until you have a simple interface where you put an input in, you've given it the skill and the recipe, and it produces the output.
In Ian's case, that was a 30-page MarketSauce Blueprint document doing an incredible deep dive on his business based on the information he provided.
But that 30 pages could be anything your imagination wants it to be:
  • Emails
  • Landing page instructions
  • Presentations via Gamma
  • A complete go-to-market asset package
I haven't built all of that into my Claude skills yet, but I have a clear idea of where I'd take this blueprint and run with it — plugging into Lovable, Gamma, Canva, you name it.
It's all about how we get creative with the use of these tools while orchestrating, architecting, and thinking through the system that allows these AIs to not just take what you do and stop there waiting for the next step — but actually iterate on what we're creating and produce results.
The Questions That Matter
Whatever you're actively doing in your business right now — what are the things you're doing most often that lead to:
  • More clients
  • More revenue
  • Saving time on tedious tasks so your team can focus on what actually matters
If you can answer those questions, you're going to be far ahead of people using Claude and ChatGPT like a basic search engine.
Using it as your agentic interface to orchestrate outcomes — with you as the human architect directing operations and leveraging AI agents — means you can continue to build and stack your own skills to get better at building systems that support the life and business you want to create.
Where We Should Be Spending Our Time
The thinking.
The thought that goes into the architecture and planning.
That's where we should be spending the most time.
Because now the AI is helping us execute. But if we're not clear on the direction, the outcome, or where we see our vision landing — getting AI to bring us there is going to take longer. We'll more than likely miss the mark.
But here's the good news: we don't have to over-engineer every single prompt to get there. We don't have to get so technical and code-heavy that we forget about the orchestration of all these AI tools, agents, and the humans operating them — where they all fit and work in harmony together.
We can lock that in over the next four weeks.
Let's. Go.
I believe everyone in this community will be several steps ahead of those spending this month catching up on reality TV drama or news that's completely out of our control.
Good luck in the Claude Mastery Sprint.
Looking forward to seeing you on the live calls and inside the community.
Ask your questions, share your wins, keep calm & AI on. 🤙
We'll see you on the other side.
