⭐ Theoretical Thursday: Should AI Be Taught in Schools? I have to give a quick shout‑out to @Ziena Walker — their post earlier got me thinking about AI, and it sparked such a good idea for Theoretical Thursday that I brought it straight to my students. In class, we used sentence starters and question stems to guide the conversation — things like: • I wonder… • I can explain… • I would argue that… • When I analyze this, I notice… • One question I still have is… We talked about how science conversations can use science words — analyze, explain, investigate, argue, wonder, question — even when the topic isn’t strictly “science content.” It helps students practice reasoning, not just recall. Then I posed this question, and it lit the room up: Should AI be taught in schools? My students had thoughts. They backed them up. They challenged each other. They used evidence. They used vocabulary. They thought. Now I’d love to hear from you. Use any of the sentence starters above if you want — or jump in however you like. There’s no right or wrong direction here, just thoughtful conversation. Science as a Bridge Note: This is exactly what we mean by strengthening reasoning through science. When students learn to analyze, argue, question, and explain, they’re building skills that transfer to every subject — and every part of life. So… what do you think: Should AI be taught in schools?
