Pairing Herbs in One Container: What Plays Nicely Together (and What Definitely Doesnโ€™t) ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿชด
One of the easiest ways to get more from your space is planting But the secret is pairing herbs that like Because herbs donโ€™t argue about personalityโ€ฆ they argue about moisture. ๐Ÿ˜„ Below are the best โ€œherb buddyโ€ combos for containers, plus a few pairings that usually end in drama. ๐๐š๐ข๐ซ ๐ก๐ž๐ซ๐›๐ฌ ๐ฐ๐ข๐ญ๐ก ๐ฌ๐ข๐ฆ๐ข๐ฅ๐š๐ซ ๐ง๐ž๐ž๐๐ฌ: * ๐’๐š๐ฆ๐ž ๐ฅ๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ญ (most want bright sun) * ๐’๐š๐ฆ๐ž ๐ฐ๐š๐ญ๐ž๐ซ preference (moist vs dry-ish) * ๐’๐ข๐ฆ๐ข๐ฅ๐š๐ซ ๐ ๐ซ๐จ๐ฐ๐ญ๐ก ๐ฌ๐ฉ๐ž๐ž๐ (so one doesnโ€™t smother the others) If you match those three, youโ€™ll have a happy pot. These herbs prefer to dry out a bit between waterings and love sun. โœ… ๐๐จ๐ญ ๐ญ๐ข๐ฉ: use a well-draining mix and donโ€™t overwater. These herbs like more consistent moisture and arenโ€™t fans of drying out completely. โœ… Optional: Dill (if you give it space) ๐–๐ก๐ฒ ๐ข๐ญ ๐ฐ๐จ๐ซ๐ค๐ฌ: they like similar moisture and grow well in cooler temps too. This combo is great for shoulder seasons and indoor windowsills. If you love making herbal tea, this is such a fun pot. โœ… Optional: a little chamomile (if you have enough light) Mint and lemon balm are vigorous.
