I grew up playing soccer, hurling, Gaelic football, boxing and athletics, but I stopped at 17 when I moved to Cork for college. At 20, a five-a-side game was a wake-up call — I was breathless and my legs felt like lead. I joined a gym, rebuilt my strength and endurance, and got back into soccer. Wanting to help others, I returned to college to study exercise science and coaching. I cut my teeth teaching aerobics and early spinning classes, then expanded my approach with boxing, CrossFit, athletics and movement-focused training to sharpen cardiovascular fitness and coaching technique. I continued learning by attending classes across the industry to refine structure and teaching styles. I retired from instructing in 2019, then became one of the first members at FUSE Cork when it opened in October 2022. I’m thrilled to have been invited back in 2024 to teach part-time and to be part of the FUSE community.
