LIVE footage or studio filmed??✨
Hi cruise ship fam! 👋 Our newest member @Ria Bañares asked a great question that I wanted to share with everyone! She asked whether it's okay to submit a reel filmed in a studio setting versus a live performance. The answer is: whenever possible, go with LIVE footage! 🎤✨ Cruise lines want to see that you can confidently hold a show in front of a real audience. They aren't just evaluating your voice, they're looking at your stage presence, energy, audience interaction, and overall performance experience. Below are two reels from my band that were filmed for land-based gigs. Which one do you think was filmed in a studio, and which one was filmed live? You can usually tell right away which performance feels more energized, authentic, and connected to an audience versus the one where I'm fake AF😆 There's nothing wrong with using studio footage if that's all you have available. Sometimes you have to work with the circumstances you have. But if you have quality live footage, that's almost always the stronger choice. What do you think? Can you spot the live one? 👇
