Body Shaming in the Cruise Ship Industry - Curvy Girl Edition 💕🚢
Hi friends! 👋🏽 I’ve seen a lot of comments lately about body shaming in the cruise industry and questions like, “Do I have to be a certain size to get booked?” So, I made a video. Unfortunately, I can relate to the insecurities that can come with navigating this industry, especially when it comes to body image and feeling like you have to fit a certain look to be successful. But I will say, things have shifted and evolved a lot, at least here in America, and I think it’s important to talk about that change while also acknowledging that there’s still work to be done. 🎥 Check out the video and let me know: Have you ever experienced body shaming or felt like you had to look a certain way to get booked?

Glad to be here. 🙂
Hello everyone. I am new here. Hi Martina! Is it possible to move from being a cruise ship lounge singer to becoming a guest entertainer? I’ve been performing as a lounge singer on cruise ships for the past three years, and after seeing the guest entertainers onboard, I’ve been inspired to pursue that path as well if given the opportunity. I’m still working on my show. I was just wondering if it’s possible for me to make that transition in the future, if I qualify. I watched your YouTube videos about the requirements, and I was wondering if there are any passport or nationality restrictions. Or does it depend on the itinerary? For example, if the entertainer is from Asia, would they only be offered shows on Asian itineraries, or can they perform on cruises worldwide? Thanks!
🎭 Headliner Show Script Flow (A Proven Structure to Get You Thinking)
Your headliner script needs the right blend of song, script, and audience engagement to keep energy high and attention locked in from start to finish. Below is a suggested format I’ve personally used when headlining that helps maintain strong flow throughout the show. You might be thinking - is it really that important?Yes. When you're being compared against other exceptional performers, every detail matters. Flow, pacing, and how you structure your moments on stage all impact how the audience experiences you. Here’s a simple structure to get your ideas flowing: 1. 🎤 High-energy opening song (set the tone immediately) 2. 👋 Quick intro (who you are + establish your presence on stage) 3. 🎶 Song 4. 💬 Short banter / audience connection 5. 🎶 Song 6. 🎶 Song 7. 💬 Longer banter (you’ve earned the audience’s attention here) 8. 🎶 Song 9. 🎶 Song 10. 🗣️ Closing speech / gratitude moment 11. 🎤 Big closing song This isn’t a strict format - it’s simply a creative framework to help you think about pacing, energy, and audience engagement in a structured way. Now I’m curious: 💭 What do you think of this structure?💭 How are you currently building your own headliner scripts?💭 What’s the hardest part for you - flow, banter, or song selection? Drop your thoughts and questions below - let’s break this down together. 🎭
