Hello Freight Group friends! Happy New Year! 🍾 I wish everyone a rich '25, regardless of what the freight god's throw our way! 😇
Quick (amateur) question: at our brokerage, we want to steadily move away from the transactional brokerage (heavy spot-market) business, into a true transportation management brokerage where (for example) we have an agreement with our customer to manage their broker relationships, RFPs(if applicable), the customer book their own freight, etc. for a contracted rate.
For those currently involved in this side of supply chain and freight:
- What software are you using to help customers manage their supply chain? Not a typical broker TMS, rather a true supply chain or managed freight, software. Perhaps that the customer books their own freight once you've set it up for them with their product catalog and specs. of their freight.
- Are you considered a reseller or 'white-label' of that software? If so, what's your experience been like?
- Are you using that same software to manage RFPs for your customer? If so, are you able to broker loads to yourself and then do you significantly lower (or zero-out) your margin because you've already set up an agreement for the management of?
Any feedback or discussion, truly appreciated!
Cheers!
