Coach pulls me aside:“Our guys aren’t healthy… you HAVE to play.”
Best team in the country. Defending champs.
And he made it sound like I was a liability.
But I was ready.
18 years old.True freshman. First start.
3 sacks. School record.
Do you think I ever came off the field again? No chance.
That one game propelled me to everything that came after — all the way to the pros.

You won’t have time to “get ready.”
