REPETITION ➰
The longer you spend doing anything of course you get good at it! Why not apply the same strategy to dopamine, Or scratch that, Apply it to any distraction for that matter. Here's the thing our brains Have functional neuroplasticity, As much as you do The better it get. The faster it learns. This is a very SIMPLE PROCESS, so I won't Beat you over the head with a completely over EXPLAINED EXAMPLE. (LOOK AT THE IMAGE FOR REFERENCE) The CUE, Start of action THE ROUTINE, ACTIVE REPETITION REWARD, HABIT The created habit is now the reward, If you can apply this to unlearning bad habits. The same system made to keep you trapped can instead do the opposite for you! I find it hilarious we write off these, Strategies, before we actually dive into how to implement them into everyday life. There’s millions of structured strategies like these, picking the right one is the important thing.

REPETITION ➰
Training yourself
When you’re learning a new concept like basketball, football, art, photography, and even studying philosophy. You tend to study, the skill, and then practice, and train yourself. If your goal is to reduce your natural time spent on your our phone without a true intention. YOU MUST PRACTICE. This is important so that I becomes habituated to the point it’s no longer a challenge. After months and months of noticing dopamine I’d have to force myself to consume content unintentionally in order to doomscroll because honestly i just trained myself to be disgusted by it. Let me know if this is something anyone has tried themselves and if they are trying to implement it as well.

Return on investment ROI.
How often have you spent Scrolling through your feed. thinking that you're getting something valuable from doing so. For most people. In fact, that Roi is simply just dopamine. Now, for some people, it could be motivation. if your feed is. mostly motivational content However I'm inclined to believe that that is not the case for most people. So when talking about roi. what return do you get for your investment of time when unintentionally scrolling? Because in reality, you're not getting anything out of it except for wasted time which, You cannot get back. I thought this example was honestly going to be amazing to use. As I heard it from one of my professors earlier today. because when you think about college, you. think about return on investment. For example, you spend 5K to go to a community college. as opposed to spending 50K to going to a private institution. And So what is the ROI here? It's brand Nothing more than just branding. And I thought this actually segued so well. to dopamine and doom scrolling and video games because even in video games, there is not a lot of ROI. because let's get into it You spend maybe hundreds of hours on a video game. that for the most part you don't actually gain anything monetary from it. And I am not saying that video games are bad whatsoever. Because if you were going to attempt a career in gaming, go 100% into that because that would be the return on investment, A career. But if you are not chasing a career in gaming and the games that you are playing require you to be on that game every day for a certain amount of time to get even slightly better than the average player. There is no ROI for that. while it is Completely okay to play video games. It should not be in everyday thing. And I. mean this especially for any one in here that is over the age of 18. I promise you I have personally spent multiple hundreds of hours on video games, so I can tell you from first hand experience. you don't need to be spending that much time. because I realized You really don't win anything. sure you might win A match inside of the game. But what then? You just get another reward if that makes you want to keep playing the same game that you've already won at again. For nothing more than a cosmetic that makes you look cooler while you play the game. but doesn't change any part about the game itself.

Content CONSUMPTION done properly
How do you properly consume content? I mean it seems very simple and in fact you do it every day mindlessly. But in truth most of it doesn't really help you, And it could be considered largely unproductive. So the question is why consume it at all really? But the thing is the way you consume content is what makes consumption so important to begin with! For example let's just say that you spend one to two hours every day consuming purely educational content for 7 days a week for two weeks out of a month. You would probably consider this extremely unproductive but in fact that's not the case because if you are intentionally consuming educational content for the purpose of educating yourself you will more than likely find at the end of those two weeks you are way more equipped with knowledge that you intentionally seeked out. If I were to recommend a specific style of consumption it would have to be intentional consumption because in truth you would lose majority of the knowledge that you gain from mindlessly scrolling Simply because you weren't actively seeking for that knowledge so your brain has absolutely zero reason to retain that knowledge. And more than just intentionally consuming. I would put a huge emphasis on. scheduling your consumption and the reason why. it's because you won't feel the need to consume more especially if it's not educational, but not just that. But because now you are being more intentional with your time.
