Flute pain
I found myself at the hospital around 11:30 p.m. for an injury I’ve dealt with before. This time I caught it early, thankfully. While working with metal on a lathe, a tiny splinter forced its way under my fingernail. At first, it seemed minor, but soon I felt throbbing pain and noticed a red line radiating from the finger. I know that can be a warning sign for sepsis, which can be life-threatening. It’s a sobering reminder of the risks that come with my many tasks.
