I'm not sure if this is exactly a memory that inspires my to continue playing but I had one memorable recital where I performed The Great Train Race by Ian Clarke and there was an elderly gentleman that came up to me afterwards. He told me how much he loved the performance, and it made his whole day. Turned out he was a retired train engineer.😆
