My wife pissed me off a year ago…but it shifted things in my marriage
I want to share something personal. You’ll see a picture of meals I prepped for my family while I’m out of town. But this is bigger than food. A year ago, my wife said something that bothered me: that I didn’t help enough when I’m away. I took offense. But then, a mentor’s question hit me: “Do you want to be right, or get it right?” Instead of defending my view, I asked her what “help” looked like. She just needed meals ready. That shifted me—getting it right means stepping into her shoes. Now, I prep meals to be present, even in my absence. So, in your relationships, are you focused on being right, or getting it right?
For all my married folks: Our first live Mischief & Marriage call is this Sunday, February 1st, at 7 PM EST (link to join is in the calendar). It’s a great chance to meet other couples, talk about how we grow our marriages, and go to the next level. Hope to see you there!
