DIY Brewery part 1
Can’t find a building? Build one yourself. The shell of this building was around (ballpark) 24k delivered to the site, paid a crew to put it up for around 4k, took em 4 days. Obviously renting a restaurant or something would probably be ideal (already set up with all the “food” production requirements in mind) . But if you’re in state and/or county with a hands off mindset like we are in Benewah county Idaho you can easily start any business you want at home. No zoning. Our brewery runs off the same well as the house. We did have to put in another drain field and septic. We still produce the beer here and self distribute and transport beer to our retail location. In Idaho you can currently have TWO retail locations on the same license if you want.

DIY Brewery part 1
Tank cleaning day
In my opinion these 5 or 7 barrel systems by Brewha are the best for small operations like mine. Small enough to be easily handled by one person with a harbor freight lift system, but big enough to produce enough beer to supply a small taproom at least. They’re all electric, so you deal with less red tape than you would with gas. And they’re space efficient since you mash, boil, ferment, and condition all in the same tank. Cleaning is easy and you don’t need to deal with harsh caustic cleaners since the boil is done in the tank before you drop yeast in it self sanitizes. They’re a company out of Canada. A little spendy but worth it if space is at a premium where you might wanna brew. They make small homebrew and pilot systems as well. Inexpensive canning
My setup cost me about $1500 and I can get up to 5 cases an hour done if conditions are right. I sell a case of the Avery Blonde Ale for 52.00 wholesale to the local stores and for 4.99 a can in my taproom.

Brewha discount code!
I’ll do a video on my setup soon, but I just wanted to share some news with all of you. I use a Brewha 5 barrel (Brew in a colander) system. It’s been great for us at Two Saints Brewing. They’re a great little company out of Canada and they’ll ship pretty much anywhere. They have small homebrew, pilot, as well as large commercial systems and everything you would need with those. Enter Entreprobrewer5 at checkout and you get 5 percent off, which can add up to a couple thousand dollars if you’re starting a commercial brewery! https://brewhaequipment.com/
