Here is the list of things that I spoken about last night 😁
You can have a look and rewatch it here:
- Open with the feeling — when did you last feel overwhelmed? Normalise it, don't fix it straight away
- What overwhelm actually is — your nervous system saying "too much, too fast" — it's not weakness, it's a signal
- The body first — overwhelm lives in the body before it reaches the mind — where do you feel it? (chest, throat, shoulders?)
- One breath before one thought — a simple box breath or slow exhale to come back into the body
- The somatic reset — shake it out, place a hand on your heart, feel your feet on the floor
- Stop trying to think your way out — the mind created the overwhelm, it can't solve it alone
- Self-compassion over self-criticism — overwhelm gets worse when we judge ourselves for feeling it
- Shrink the container — one thing, one moment, one breath — not the whole list
- Your emotions are messengers — what is the overwhelm trying to tell you about your needs right now?
- Permission to pause — rest is not giving up, it's nervous system regulation in action
💬 Think my dear: When you feel overwhelmed, what's the first thing your body is asking for?
