How To See Beauty in Film, Part 1: In the Mood for Love
Started a new series on how to see and appreciate beauty in film. In this first episode I analyze one of the most gorgeously crafted films of all time, In the Mood for Love. See how this master craftsman infused so much purpose and intent in this still frame. Beauty is harmony, harmony comes from purpose, and this frame has lots of it. @Takeshi Takama thank you for inspiring me to go in this direction. What do you think of this video? I want to start teaching aesthetics in this way. I think it could be really helpful to non-artists.
Level Up Your Taste and Aesthetics
Most of you are already aligned with the 'Western Academic' ideal of beauty, taste and aesthetics. This channel is for general resources and practices that I believe will improve, expand and elevate your taste and aesthetics. Because our work can only go as high, or be as beautiful as our level of taste, training or elevating our taste is something that should be a part of our practice. I'll start with my favorite YT channel for expanding my ideal of beauty and taste, Gammell Lack. If you're new to this channel, start with the playlists below, it rocks my world every time.
