Business Experts: How To Get Unstuck In Life - Myron Golden
The Importance of Taking Action - Most people lack the intention, intensity, and velocity to move towards their desires, and as a result, they never reach a point of no return, which is why getting started is crucial, and once started, moving forward with enthusiasm is necessary (00:00:07) - The concept of "start before you're ready" is essential because the start often stops people from taking action, and many individuals spend years preparing without ever taking the first step (00:00:52) - Internal resistance to starting is a common phenomenon, and it exists due to anxiety over past pain and the fear of future discomfort, which can be overcome by taking immediate action (00:01:37) - The body and mind are skilled at remembering pain, and this often leads people to avoid pain more than they seek pleasure, resulting in resistance to starting new things (00:04:21) Overcoming Resistance to Starting - When considering a new endeavor, anxiety builds up due to the memory of past pain and the awareness that disruption often follows intention, making it essential to push past these feelings and take action (00:04:40) - The experience of starting something new is often less daunting than the anticipation, and taking the first step can lead to a sense of accomplishment and momentum, as seen in the example of getting on an assault bike or taking a cold plunge (00:02:49) - The idea that "most anything" is less intimidating once started is a key concept, and recognizing that anxiety over the future is often based on past experiences can help individuals overcome their resistance to starting (00:03:34)
5 steps to become more productive
Borrowed from somewhere lol Busy and productive are not the same thing. Most agency owners end every day exhausted but feel like they haven't moved forward at all. That's not a time problem. That's a focus problem. Here's how to fix it. 1. Use the Eisenhower Matrix. Separate what's urgent from what's important. Your biggest goals live in the "important but not urgent" box. That's where you need to spend more time. 2. Block focus time. Treat it like a client meeting. Non-negotiable. No interruptions. Deep work only. 3. Delegate and automate everything else. If someone else can do it, let them. Your time is too valuable for low-value tasks. 4. Review your week every Friday. Did your daily tasks this week actually contribute to your bigger goals? If not, reprioritise. 5. Break big goals into daily actions. A goal without a daily action is just a wish. Nobody is going to protect your time for you. That's your job.
