It never fails to surprise me how clever the lenders are at selling expensive mortgages. I am purchasing a student HMO for £180k. Here are my options. Which one would you choose? 2-year fixed • 4.59% • Free Valuation • £4005 product fee 2-year fixed • 6.35% • Free Valuation • £1495 product fee 5-year fixed • 5.19% • Free Valuation • £4005 product fee 5-year fixed • 5.69% • £435 Valuation • £1495 product fee
Grade 2 listed house
Evening all, we’re at the early stages of considering buying a grade 2 listed property to live in. So my question is would this be a ridiculous thing to do?! We’re not heritage enthusiasts and know nothing about listed buildings. How would we ascertain the remit of the grade 2 listing status? Does anyone have any experience with them, good and/or bad, any any nuggets of information that we should be considering please? Thank you in advance.

Mortgage Comparison v2.0
I have adjusted the Mortgage Comparison sheet to include percent/amount calc and it also gives you an overall % cost of the finance. Download in Free Resources. Just wanted to share this remortgage illustration with you all. Property is block with shop and 3 flats. Mortgage is with Shawbrook. Interbay are clearly cheaper but if Shawbrook lower legal and valuation fees, it might be better to stay with them. Products I am considering are in Yellow. Last time around, lender's legal fees were £1,813.
