Capcut or Descript?

Quick question: I've been watching tutorials on editing software, and these two seem very similar. Does anyone have a strong opinion/preference one way or the other, and can you tell me why? Alexa did a great tutorial on Capcut, so I'll assume that one is her preference.

My daughter works in Davinci Resolve, but Capcut and Descript seem simpler to me, based on the fact I'm more visual. Thanks for any feedback as I research editing software.
