#2 wins for me because of the facial expression, the "HOW?" question, and the background with cars. I agree with PPC Mindset that the HOW could be changed to red for greater impact. Good luck with this!
Alexa’s Advice on My Last Upload – Here’s What Happened!
Good morning guys, I just wanted to share some exciting results from my latest video after following @Alexa Saarenoja awesome advice from her last post. She mentioned how crucial it is to make the first 30 seconds of your video the absolute best to hook viewers and maintain retention. I gave it a shot with my recent upload, and the results are in—huge thanks to Alexa for the tip! Here's Alexa's post - https://www.skool.com/creator-boost-3367/tip-for-today Here is my video - https://youtu.be/INnFx3q3-Y8?si=MHuNuvmbi39HOJcn Here’s a quick breakdown of what happened: I uploaded a video titled "Why Do Tesla Tyres Wear Out So Fast? KwikFit's Shocking Reveal!" (10:24 long), and focused on making the intro as engaging as possible. According to my YouTube Studio analytics, my audience retention in the first 30 seconds was 72%, which is way above my channel’s typical retention (around the 30% mark at that point). Overall, my average view duration percentage hit 42.3%, which is also higher than my channel average of 42%. Plus, the video got a solid 92.5% likes vs. dislikes ratio! I’m thrilled with how it performed. For those who might want to try this too, here’s a step-by-step on how I applied Alexa’s advice to make the first 30 seconds count, based on the script I used: 1. Start with a Hook Immediately: I kicked off by confirming the viewer’s suspicions—“So your suspicions have finally been confirmed: those tires you’ve been replacing way too often? It’s not just your imagination or driving style.” This directly addresses a relatable pain point for my audience (Tesla owners or car enthusiasts) and grabs their attention right away. 2. Set the Stakes Early: I introduced KwikFit’s 2025 study to establish credibility and urgency, saying, “KwikFit’s massive 2025 study just revealed the Tesla Model 3 tops the charts for premature tire replacements—up to 10 times more frequently than average across 54 UK areas.” The “10 times more often” stat creates a shocking moment that makes viewers want to keep watching. 3. Tease the Value: I hinted at a deeper story by asking, “But is this just about Tesla’s weight and instant torque, or is there something the company isn’t telling Tesla owners?” This builds curiosity and promises a revealing answer if they stick around. 4. Keep the Energy High: I kept my tone urgent and the pacing quick, moving from the problem to the study to the broader implications within 30 seconds. I also used on-screen text like “Tesla Model 3: 10X faster tyre replacements across UK” to reinforce the hook visually. 5. Add a Visual Hook: I paired the script with visuals of a Tesla Model 3 and a worn-out tire being inspected, which tied directly into the topic and kept viewers engaged.

That's a great and informative video, Des. I watched the whole thing to give ya the full video time, even though I've got a Subaru Outback with new tires last Autumn, haha

Why I Stopped Holding Back and Started Sharing Everything
Good morning guys, I wanted to share the reason why I started posting more in this forum and how my approach to content creation has completely shifted over time. Back in the day, I used to keep everything close to my chest. I’d figure out what was working for my channel—little tricks, strategies, or ideas—and I’d guard them like they were some big secret. Same went for what wasn’t working; I’d never admit when something flopped because I didn’t want to look like I didn’t have it all together. And honestly, I was terrified of sharing my channel too openly because I thought, “What if someone just swoops in and copies me?” But lately, I’ve flipped that mindset entirely, and I owe a lot of that change to some amazing people. I got inspired by @Alexa Saarenoja — she’s been so open about her journey, and it really hit me how much value there is in being real and generous with what you’ve learned. Then there’s the Creator Boost group. Seeing how others in that community share so freely, bounce ideas around, and lift each other up encouraged me to do the same. It was like a lightbulb moment: why hoard this stuff when we can all grow together? Now, I don’t care who sees what I’m doing or who tries to run with my ideas. I’ve started sharing everything—the wins, the fails, the experiments—and it’s been so freeing. I love putting it all out there and watching others take what’s worked for me and make it their own. Seeing people execute their own spins on my strategies and grow their channels? That’s honestly become one of the best parts of this journey. I’ve noticed it’s had a ripple effect too. People reach out, share their results, and we end up bouncing ideas back and forth—it’s like a little community of creators all leveling up together. It’s such a positive vibe, and it’s made me realise that holding back was just slowing me down. The more I give, the more I get out of it, you know? So yeah, I’m all in on this open-book approach now and plan to keep it going. Anyone else feel this way?

There’s an old adage, “misery loves company” but I think … nope, that’s not it. COMMUNITY loves company. When people share, you don’t feel alone any more.
