✨ Overview
WNDR Museum is inviting local artists and artist teams to create a temporary, immersive installation for WNDR Chicago or WNDR Boston as part of its Artist Showcase Program. The focus is on hands-on, curiosity-driven experiences in a high-traffic, interactive museum setting.

- Durable, safe, ADA-compliant work 🛠️
- Prior museum experience not required
Artists retain ownership of their work.
🖼️ Exhibition Details
- Duration: 6 months
- Location: Chicago or Boston
- Visibility platform, not an artwork purchase
💰 Commission
- $12,000 per selected artist or artist team
- Covers artist fees, design, fabrication, and materials
🤝 Support from WNDR Museum
- Production and operations coordination
- Marketing and social media promotion 📲
- On-site install and de-install support
- Launch event with complimentary tickets 🎟️
Artists handle installation and de-installation in collaboration with the WNDR team.
🗓️ Timeline
- Call opens: Feb 2, 2026
- Call closes: Mar 2, 2026
- Selections announced: Mar 30, 2026
- Installation begins: Apr 28, 2026
- Public opening: Mid–late May 2026
- De-installation: 6 months after launch
👥 Eligibility
- Individual artists and teams welcome
- Chicago- or Boston-based artists encouraged 📍
- Ability to travel to the museum required ✈️
- All media welcome: digital, immersive, sculpture, light, sound, interactive work
🌍 WNDR Museum encourages submissions from artists of all backgrounds.
📸 Social Media Participation
Selected artists agree to take part in promotional content such as interviews and behind-the-scenes documentation.
📄 Submission Requirements
Submit one PDF by March 2, 2026, including:
- Project description & visitor experience
- High-level budget
- Proposed timeline
- Visuals or renderings
- Examples of past work
- Artist bio
