A study isn't about being attached to finish or polish - it's about doing your best within the parameters. You may receive your parameters from a trusted guide (teacher) or you may set them yourself. The parameters should be designed to focus your energy on a goal, solution to a problem, or the answering of a question. Wherever you are at the end of the study session will inform your next stab at the goal/solution/answer. You build proficiency by learning economy and prioritization of action through the parameters. There are two new chances to make studies here with me in February. Look for our monthly painting challenge (all members) which drops tomorrow 2/1, and a new lesson ( Premier & VIP) which drops on 2/14.

I have these two HUGE PDFs of Instructor demo drawings from my school days at California Art Institute. These were initially photocopied from the instructor originals in the art school office and stapled into packets to hand out to us students. At some point maybe 2010? someone scanned them and gave me these 2 honking pdf's I couldn’t do anything with because they are so big! So I am resizing each page in photoshop so I can share them here. I've got a chunk of pages up now and will keep plugging away at it. Premier and VIP access
