Does Outreach Still Work For Freelancers In 2025? Here's What Freelancers Are Doing Differently to land $200-$1.5k Freelance Projects
So what does work then? Is it still possible to land clients as a freelancer? What platforms work nowadays?
I'm sure we can all relate to this, right...
Outreaching can feel like just one big maze that everyone else somehow got the map to but you...
And with all the noise nowadays it starts to blend into one big, confusing blur of...
“this doesn’t work” or “clients aren’t replying” and “maybe this was a bad idea” or worse ''should I just give up'
And I get that! I really do because I have experienced this exact thing myself.
Because when you’re surrounded by ''gurus'' showing off these perfect outreach scripts and £10k wins in their first week,
it’s incredibly easy to fall into that trap.
From my personal experience landing multiple clients as a freelancer, and helping other in this group do the same,
the only thing that’s actually “broken” is not outreach.
It's not instagram, It's not facebook, It's not skool, It's not linked in...
It's the expectation these influencers have put in your mind.
That your first 1, 10, 20, 50, 100 cold DMs should land you a dream client...
That if you haven’t made £1k by week two, or within the first month of starting, you’re doing it wrong.
That if it doesn’t work fast, it doesn’t work at all.
That if your from a certain country, it doesn't work for you.
What if the real issue wasn’t that “nothing works”…
Here’s what no one seems to talk about that genuinely changed everything for me:
What starts as “just trying to figure out how to get clients”…
Turns into waiting.
And that waiting for the perfect message, the perfect platform, the perfect time...
it slowly becomes this 'thing' that never actually happens.
(I waited like that for longer than I’d like to admit.)
So when I made that TINY DECISION to stop waiting to feel “ready'' and just start
was when I started landing clients at $700MRR, $1.5KMRR, $2KMRR…
And eventually cracked my first $5K+MRR project.
That’s how I finally crossed into five-figures.
Now, here's some gems that we shared in the Freelance Fast-track lives this week that I wanted to let you guys in on:
This is what the people who are landing clients — right now, in this very group - are doing differently.
thought f* it, sent about 70ish DMs with a strategy & offer he wanted to test, worked for free, got a client 11k views, and officially has landed a paying YouTube scriptwriting gig — and now he’s potentially about to close a £1.5K client for web design, and even a client for creating a newsletter.
too has just landed her first freelance client for emails and a landing page.
And landed his first client even while being super unprepared, having no clue what he was doing, and now he's literally having conversations with real prospects, making real progress, on the right track and getting so close to more yeses.
Of course we’re still working on refining their messages.
Of course we’re adjusting their strategy.
Of course we’re improving their offer and the positioning and the flow of it all.
But none of that could happen if they hadn’t made the decision to stop believing the lie that it’s “too late” or “too saturated” or “too hard” and just get started.
And there's more of you in this group who have also landed your first 1-3 clients recently, free & paid!
You might want to know this, from the deepest place of care for you (that's why this post is so long lol)
Outreach still works...
your clients aren’t hiding...
the platforms aren’t broken....
and the opportunity hasn’t disappeared for you.
If all you take from this post is one thing, please let it be this:
You’re allowed to begin without being fully ready.
And that tiny decision to just start, even a little, even today —could be the one that genuinely changes everything for you.
Now, what about if you're someone who has been sending outreaches,
but something just seems to not be working even though you are ''doing the work,'' as they all say,
don't worry, stay notified for my next few posts because I am going to be making another post about this exactly very soon
(this is stuff that I'm giving to you that we share in our freelance fast-track lives too)
PS: Feel free to share your thoughts with me in the comments below, maybe you have any stories you'd like to share, maybe you have landed your first client, or maybe you just wanna vibe and send a funny gif go ahead :)
