Sore Back After Training? Here's 5 Exercises You Can Try
To be honest with you, backs are complicated.
Backs are probably the most complicated error-message to try and solve with combat sports athletes.
Over the years, I have developed a library or exercises to turn to, once I have assessed an athlete and have a better idea of what is going on.
More often than not, back issues stem from one or more of the following;
  • Weak midsection strength (abdominal complex, lower erector spinae, poor bracing mechanics)
  • Tight hips (limited hip internal rotation, external rotation, flexion, and extension)
  • Limited adduction mobility and adductor strength
  • Limited abduction mobility and abductor strength
  • Limited Thoracic extension capability
  • Limited Thoracic rotation capability
Here are just 5 of the many exercises I will use to combat the notorious sore back after training.
Let me know which ones work for you!
