Finally…
Last night after I watched Crystals videos of her process I went in the kitchen and attempted to become a Macaron Rebel. …My 37th batch I attempted the oven drying method one last time (said that before), but differently than Crystals version. I started at the lowest temp my oven would start at which was 170. They were probably my worst batch yet. Still edible though, just outrageously ugly. 🤣 After that, I decided to do one more batch for the night and let them air dry matte. (I know … not as pretty as your beautiful shiny ones. 😢) Batch 38 was the first batch that I truly felt like I had reached that level we are all hoping to reach. I was so happy I literally teared up. So many hours in the kitchen, so many videos and tutorials watched, so many ingredients used, so many hours reading, and I think I’m here. I have been experimenting with different flavors and working on coloring. These were requested for my daughter’s 17th birthday. I made 6 different flavors. Coconut Buttercream with lime curd, Coconut Buttercream with Mango Curd, Lemon Buttercream with Wild Blueberry Curd, Lemon Buttercream with Raspberry Curd, Toasted Coconut Buttercream, and White Chocolate Banana Ganache. These were so amazingly fabulous last night, but today after they matured…. Wow. I’m blown away. Not to toot my own horn but Toot, Toot, TOOT!!! I’m so proud of myself and so thankful for this community.
