I have been running into massive issues with large project execution. I have solid PRDs, tech specs, implementation plans, etc. Everything is decomposed/sharded into atomic tickets in github...and yet the projects all go sideways and then just seem to be on constant side quests. I'm missing something obviously, people seem to be able to build full apps and yet I'm constantly finding that every ticket I work on creates two more and the project then needs to rewrite some other piece and we're going the wrong direction fast. I can have codex or claude run for hours and hours, only to find they haven't made headway closing a single ticket due to this issue. I must be failing at something basic. Unless I use the terminal and prompt one small idea at a time, things seem to fall apart and I constantly need to have the coding agent 'regroup' and revise the plan. That's when it's clear things went way off the rails and what it said it was doing and what the tickets directed it to do versus what it actually did were night and day. So i would have to unravel bunch of commits, etc. It's a mess. Anyone have a direction they can point me for controlling these kinds of full projects? I've got my orchestration working (mostly) accurately to handle a ticket or two for bugfixes and feature adds on existing solutions, but greenfield stuff is painfully failing.

Pretty new to the AI world, but I'm using Obsidian for now to help me organize my journal entries and meeting transcripts. I connected Gemini to help summarize my meetings for the week which lives in the 04 Journal/Journal.md. So I got to thinking, maybe I should create more AI "thingies" within each folder and then have a master root file they all report to, sort of like a command center. What am I doing? And what's the proper term for these "thingies" called? Chief of staff? Agents? Skills? Instructions?

Hi All! I made an app for my mom, didn't charge her obviously, and my dad slipped me R1000 ($61) anyway. I got paid, whoop whoop! Sweet gesture - but now I've got a friend asking for a quote for actual paid work, and I genuinely don't know what to tell her. It's not a super simple bit of work either, it's actually got some real layers to it, but SUPER cool and SUPER interesting to build. The credits/hosting/sundries side I can work out, that's just cost. What I'm stuck on is pricing my work: the actual skill, the time, the layers that go into a build. So much of it is my data skills and understanding how to structure the data and put it all together, technically a lot of this is just pure data in a nice wrapper. So the question: when you price a build, once-off or subscription, are you working from hours × a rate, pricing against what a comparable service/tool would cost the client, or something else? How do you put a price on labour if you have nothing to compare it to? I'm a teacher with a few cool skills in data and making things look nice, and I like systems, which maybe makes it feel easier to me than it actually is, so I know that's not the most reliable measure of what it's worth. But she's not the only one asking, people keep reaching out, so I'm trying to build an actual system here, not just take any offer and hope for the best next time.
