Be the Church
OPTION 1 — WITNESS
Find somebody who doesn’t know Jesus.
Have a genuine conversation.
Tell them what Jesus has done in your life.
You don’t have to preach a sermon.
You don’t have to force anything.
Just tell your story.
“Let me tell you why Jesus matters to me.”
OPTION 2 — PRAY
Ask somebody:
“Is there anything I can pray with you about?”
And then pray.
Right there.
Don’t say:
“I’ll pray for you.”
And walk away.
If appropriate, say:
“Can I pray with you right now?”
OPTION 3 — ENCOURAGE
Find somebody who looks discouraged.
Call them.
Text them.
Visit them.
Speak life.
Give them Scripture.
Tell them what you see in them.
Sometimes being the church is simply being the person who reminds somebody:
“Don’t give up.”
OPTION 4 — HELP A WIDOW OR ELDER
Find somebody older who needs help.
Cut their grass.
Clean something.
Take them food.
Run an errand.
Sit with them.
Listen to them.
Pray with them.
Don’t underestimate this.
THIS IS THE CHURCH.
OPTION 5 — HELP SOMEBODY IN NEED
Buy groceries.
Give someone a meal.
Give clothing.
Help with transportation.
Pay for something.
Give someone something they genuinely need.
Don’t just tell somebody:
“God bless you.”
Sometimes God wants to bless them through you.
OPTION 6 — SERVE YOUR NEIGHBOR
Look around your neighborhood.
Who needs help?
Who has something they can’t do?
Who needs their yard done?
Who needs something moved?
Who needs a repair?
Who needs somebody to listen?
GO.
OPTION 7 — PRAY FOR THE SICK
If someone is sick and is willing to receive prayer, pray for them.
Don’t make it complicated.
Pray in Jesus’ name.
Ask God to heal.
Believe God.
And love the person regardless of what happens.
We don’t manufacture miracles.
WE TRUST THE LORD.
OPTION 8 — VISIT SOMEBODY LONELY
There are people surrounded by people who are still lonely.
Call somebody.
Visit somebody.
Take them coffee.
Take them food.
Sit down.
Listen.
Pray.
Sometimes the miracle somebody needs is simply discovering:
“Somebody sees me.”
OPTION 9 — DO SOMETHING WITH YOUR CHILDREN
Parents, your children are not the future church.
THEY ARE THE CHURCH NOW.
Take them with you.
Let them make a card for someone.
Let them help deliver food.
Let them encourage somebody.
Let them pray for someone.
Let them help a neighbor.
Then ask your child:
“What do you think Jesus wanted us to do today?”
Teach them that Christianity is something we do, not merely something we attend.
OPTION 10 — FIND YOUR OWN MISSION
Maybe God puts something in front of you that isn’t on this list.
Do it.
If you see a need—
RESPOND.
If you see someone hurting—
LOVE.
If you meet someone who needs Jesus—
WITNESS.
If somebody needs prayer—
PRAY.
If someone needs help—
HELP.
Don’t wait for ChurcHouse to organize everything.
