To Amp or not to Amp?
That is the question. These days there’s so much talk around not needing an amp, not using an amp and basically “dead “the modern day amp is for Bass Guitar.
What do you do? Where do you sit in this conversation? 👀👀
Personally I’ve come almost full circle from carrying a big old heavy PV 4 x 10 cab that weighed 45 kg to bringing just a DI preamp, to now using a smaller amp rig on almost every stage I play. Nothing can replace the real feeling of speakers pushing air and in my experience the whole band tends to perform better with the of the Bass amp because everyone feels the music and groove that much more.
These days I use my little RS210 TC cab. I play around with using the TC electronic head or swapping it out for the little mark Bass head.
I have a full Aguilar AG700 head with SL212 Cab that is beautiful but 9/10 I'll just go for the slightly smaller rig as it’s easier to transport and fit on any stage.
