Curated: The Power of Prayer
I have a google alert every time the topic The Power of Prayer gets some traction. Author Nir Eyal wondered if he could still pray if he didn't believe in God. He went to a Rabbi to ask this question. The answer: we can doubt. we can question. And so he prayed, with surprising results. We've been talking about compassion here, with the key of Karuna. And I very much believe that prayer is part of this. When we offer up compassion in our prayers--bringing self-less love to ourselves, others, the world--amazing things happen. Most importantly, the amazing thing that happens is within ourselves. Read the summary or listen to the podcast, below! Let me know what you think! Curated: The Power of Prayer
There is no “us” and “them”
Morning song: "Forgive." By Trevor Hall & Luka Lesson https://open.spotify.com/track/5O8apSTKxjakqbhdDxT7hr?si=ex0WcBsGTfSwfSYLHQHLHw&context=spotify%3Aplaylist%3A37i9dQZF1F5p3rmiWPIYgZ If you’ve been following this week's Yoga Sutra, YS 1.33, we’re exploring the locks and keys of happiness. The heart of that, I believe, is this line by songwriter Trevor Hall: There is no “us” and “them.” To be genuinely happy for someone—to have total compassion —to unconditionally love and really experience joy, I believe there first must be that acceptance of our oneness and union. "Giving up on separation," Hall sings. “...No enemy or friend." Just "Give." Love, Jackie

I love you.
After a strong 11-minute breath practice this morning, this was the song that came up in my playlist. I used it to hold space for all whom I love and need my love. I invite you to hold your heart. Allow it to open. During the song, place a loved one right there in its center. Whisper: I love you. (Name), I love you. Can the burdens we carry be turned over to the soul?
This came across one of my feeds. In working with Pratipaksha Bhavanam, how can we help our soul cultivate the opposite?
