Dot Has Completely Changed How I Develop My Programs
I have to say, I’m seriously impressed with what ChatGPT can do now with Dot.
Before Dot, I actually asked ChatGPT if it could execute commands directly on my NAS because the NAS had its own IP address and was accessible on my network.
At the time, the answer was basically no. ChatGPT could give me the commands, but I still had to sit at the keyboard, copy them, paste them into the NAS, bring the results back, then repeat the whole process again.
That was always the frustrating part for me.
Now with Dot, that has completely changed.
I can explain what I want done in normal conversation and ChatGPT can work directly through the development process, execute the required work, check the results, find problems, make corrections and continue testing without me having to manually enter every command on the keyboard.
For me, this is huge.
I’m not a software developer. I know what I want my program to do and I’ve been building it with ChatGPT, but I don’t want to spend hours copying commands between ChatGPT and a terminal.
With Dot, it feels like ChatGPT has gone from telling me **how** to do the work to actually being able to **do the work with me**.
That is a massive difference.
I can give it the direction, set the boundaries and let it work through the development and testing while I concentrate on what I actually want the program to achieve.
I’ve been waiting for this type of AI capability for a long time, and seeing it actually work is pretty exciting.
Anyone else here using Dot this way for developing their own programs or working directly with their NAS/server?
