Dot Has Completely Changed How I Develop My Programs
I have to say, I’m seriously impressed with what ChatGPT can do now with Dot. Before Dot, I actually asked ChatGPT if it could execute commands directly on my NAS because the NAS had its own IP address and was accessible on my network. At the time, the answer was basically no. ChatGPT could give me the commands, but I still had to sit at the keyboard, copy them, paste them into the NAS, bring the results back, then repeat the whole process again. That was always the frustrating part for me. Now with Dot, that has completely changed. I can explain what I want done in normal conversation and ChatGPT can work directly through the development process, execute the required work, check the results, find problems, make corrections and continue testing without me having to manually enter every command on the keyboard. For me, this is huge. I’m not a software developer. I know what I want my program to do and I’ve been building it with ChatGPT, but I don’t want to spend hours copying commands between ChatGPT and a terminal. With Dot, it feels like ChatGPT has gone from telling me **how** to do the work to actually being able to **do the work with me**. That is a massive difference. I can give it the direction, set the boundaries and let it work through the development and testing while I concentrate on what I actually want the program to achieve. I’ve been waiting for this type of AI capability for a long time, and seeing it actually work is pretty exciting. Anyone else here using Dot this way for developing their own programs or working directly with their NAS/server?

Auto-GPT
Running autogpt seems like it not connected to GPT 4, any sugestions greatly appreciated. "Saying gpt-4 does not exist" -=-=-=-=-=-=-= COMMAND AUTHORISED BY USER -=-=-=-=-=-=-= SYSTEM: Command analyze_code returned: Error: The model: `gpt-4` does not exist Apparently json was fixed. THOUGHTS: I will use the 'read_file' command to read the Australian construction code into memory. I will then analyze the code to determine the requirements for placing reinforced concrete. Finally, I will use the information gathered to create a list of chronological derivatives and develop a procedure list for placing reinforced concrete. REASONING: Reading the Australian construction code into memory will allow me to analyze it and determine the requirements for placing reinforced concrete. This will help me create an accurate and comprehensive procedure list. PLAN: - Use the 'read_file' command to read the Australian construction code into memory - Analyze the code to determine the requirements for placing reinforced concrete - Create a list of chronological derivatives - Develop a procedure list for placing reinforced concrete CRITICISM: I need to ensure that I am following the correct guidelines and regulations to ensure the safety and quality of the construction project. NEXT ACTION: COMMAND = read_file ARGUMENTS = {'filename': 'Australian_construction_code.txt'} Enter 'y' to authorise command, 'y -N' to run N continuous commands, 'n' to exit program, or enter feedback for ... WARNING: You are running on `master` branch - this is not a supported branch. I changed the configurator.py to the new file that was posted by Howards link. Though still have the same error.

What is your prediction about GPT's Future?
I really like this channel and am grateful that someone has the ambition, patience, and intelligence to read all papers and reports about AI development. I'm super interested and always want to go to the source of information, so I might have the ambition but lack the patience and intelligence to read it myself:-) But I'm happy I have a community with you with whom I can share interesting findings. And Thanks to the ChatGPT, I can deliver the link to this video with a summary that will help you decide if this is worth your time to watch. https://youtu.be/1NAmLp5i4Ps 1. GPT-5 will be released incrementally, unlike the historical approach of infrequent major model upgrades. 2. The AI will be incrementally improved through subsequent checkpoints of a given training run. 3. OpenAI may still have an order of magnitude more data to use and could buy more high-quality data. 4. 50% of AI researchers believe there's a 10% or greater chance of humans going extinct from AI. 5. GPT-4 performs better on safety metrics than GPT-3.5, but there is a concern about whether a smarter model can ever really be safer. The release of GPT-5 is estimated to be in mid-2024. Reliability may be a weakness of the model.

Very good, thanks for sharing. We all too hungry for this amazing technology.
Read a Document
How can I give a document to for Chat gpt to read? So i can refer to it. I would like to give access to the Building Codes of Australia, (latest edition), so I can establish procedures for a building company to have references on building to the minimum standards. Each section is approx 800 pages with many diagrams.

After many day of trying to run the script i realised had to have a paid subsciption. The ChatGPT API and ChatGPT Plus subscription are billed separately. Now its working, what a relief. Im sure many dont realise this.
