I have a mentor who asks me all the time, sometimes sarcastically and sometimes heartfelt, "Who is winning?" Sarcastically, when it seems like whatever I'm working on is not going my way, and it appears to be "the other guy" who is winning. ...And heartfelt when they are genuinely rooting for me and my daily achievements. We are on the same team; therefore, they are rooting for me to succeed. But that question, "Who is winning(?)," is a great way to check in and see if you are beating yourself at the game of life or beating yourself up. So in a genuine answer, let me ask you below... I recently had a thought pop into my head. We talk about our big wins, and sometimes small wins. I just coined the term "micro-wins." (Yes, someone else probably used the term before) Micro wins are the tiny things that make us smile. Hitting a green light when we are in a hurry. A pat on the back from a friend. Seeing someone smile when they see us. Getting to McDonalds just as they put out a new batch of fries. Paying attention to these little things is the key to being happy in life. The more we become aware of these micro-wins the better we feel about life in general. Last night we had a beautiful sunset. This morning I had a hot shower. Neither of these are unique, and are in fact pretty much daily occorances, but I am incredibly blessed every time I experience these. What are some of your micro-wins?
