Discussion Question 1: Prolong Labor (Business Course)
Our protocol writing workshop is this Friday and this week we will be tackling Prolonged Labor as the focus. Here is this week's discussion question! ------------------------------------------------------------------ In midwifery care, we must constantly balance practicing midwifery care and not introducing "too much too soon", while not falling into the dangerous situation of practicing "too little too late". It's a delicate balance and must be considered on a case by case basis each and every time we serve. What feels hardest in that balance for you in your journey right now? What factors involved make this difficult for you? • Knowing when transfer might be needed for non-emergency scenarios • Worrying about transferring too early • Understanding how experienced midwives decide where the line is • Understanding documentation and liability • Something else?? Discussion Question 1: Retained Placentas
With our Retained Placenta lecture coming in 48 hours, let’s warm up our thinking with a little discussion. There are no right or wrong answers here, just reflection as students and midwives. ------------------------------------------------------------- For many new midwives, the third stage can feel calm… until it isn’t. What part of the third stage of labor makes you feel the most nervous or uncertain right now?
