A journey of 10,000 hours always starts with 1.
Textbooks help, but being in the field is where real learning begins.😂 Nothing in midwifery is straightforward. You have to see thousands of hours of normal and variations of normal before your eye really knows what it’s looking at. We’re honored to be part of your learning hours here alongside your preceptors. 👇 Drop a comment and tell us: • Who is your preceptor? • Link their page so we can check them out and give them a follow! Let’s celebrate all the midwives and future midwives here shaping those 10,000 hours! 👏

BIG Announcement!
Hello Friends, After a lot of thought, I've decided to discontinue my regular LIVE sessions. However, the Study Nest will remain open. I want you to know I've truly enjoyed teaching and connecting with each of you LIVE, but I feel pre-recorded and edited content will be the most effective approach moving forward. My goal has always been to create a practical, experience-based resource for student and new midwives...one you can return to again and again throughout your training and early years in practice. I believe keeping the content here organized and easy to navigate is the best way to do that. Over the coming weeks, I'll continue uploading and organizing more than 30 recorded lectures, creating two levels of exams for students preparing for their NARM, uploading new unseen recordings and interviews, and participating in the discussion forums. I'm excited about this next chapter and the opportunity to build an even stronger educational resource for midwives. Current Standard members will continue to have access through June 30, 2026. At that time, the Standard Membership will be discontinued as we transition to a single Premium Membership. I hope you'll stick around for what's next. Thank you for allowing me to be part of your midwifery journey. It has been a privilege to learn alongside you, and I look forward to continuing our conversations in the community. ❤️ Midwife Kira

Info on Friday’s In-Service
Hi ya’ll! Our in-service starts tomorrow between 9:15a - 9:30a and will go until probably 11am The topic: Birth Assistant Skills We will be teaching hands-on skills on how to take a blood pressure, take vitals, draw medication from a vial, give injections, set up a birth suite from a check-list (including reviewing what each item is for) and more. I hope it translates online through the camera as well as it will be to practice it hands on. If you have any medical items at home, prepare them together and you can practice at your house alongside us. There will not be a formal lecture and I won’t be teaching on the “why”, only the “how”. Hope you can join us! I’ll be posting the link in a separate post tomorrow!

Case Study Friday
Good morning, everyone! Today’s lecture is a special Case Study Friday featuring an incredibly unique case that a local midwife experienced several years ago. I had the opportunity to sit down and interview Midwife Cyndel Grainger about the case, and I think you’ll find the story, decision-making process, and lessons learned both fascinating and valuable. The case study is short and will be available for all members to watch throughout the day, so I hope you’ll take a few minutes to log in and check it out. (For our Platinum members, this case study will be added to your permanent library and remain available for future review.) 👉👉 LINK IN CALENDAR EVENT FOR TODAY I’d love to hear your thoughts and takeaways in the comments after you watch. Enjoy!
