Exciting opportunity
I had the pleasure of helping a buddy with his outfitting business over the winter (runs guided icefishing and bear hunts in the spring and fall) as he was short of staff. He asked if I’d be interested in helping out with the spring bear hunt. After talking it over with my wife and finding out exactly what I’d be doing, I jumped at the opportunity. I’m retired almost a year now, so I thought it would be a good time to try something new. Day three of “working” has been interesting. Setting up camp along with filling the baits (he has 80 bait sites), well the ones we can get too as there is still a couple feet of snow in some areas has been challenging. I’ve learned a great deal in these first three days about running this type of business along with a lot about bears I just didn’t know. I’m looking forward to the hunters arrival. All 60 tags have been purchased.
I’ll be here until mid June.
