Don't miss the most important years
Most parents don’t realize this… The most important years for your child’s development are before age 6. This is when they build focus, confidence, how they learn, and how they think Miss this stage… and they spend years trying to catch up. If your child is between 3 and 6, this is your window. Your Child Doesn't Need More Vocabulary
This might surprise you. Most young children don't need fifty new Spanish words this week. They need five words they'll actually use. Think about the words your child says every day. More. Water. Help. Open. Mine. Again. Those words have real value because children naturally want to use them. Start there. Useful language always beats random vocabulary lists. Today's challenge Choose three Spanish words your family will use all weekend. Write them below so I can tell you how to say them in Spanish. Let me know if you need me to record myself saying it too.

Stop Quizzing. Start Talking.
Quick question. How often do you turn Spanish into a test? "What's this called?" "What color is this?" "How do you say dog?" Children get tired of being quizzed. Instead, invite them into conversations. I like your blue shirt." "I see a bird." "Let's count the apples together." Language grows through connection, not interrogation. Today's challenge: Have one completely pressure-free conversation today. No correcting. No testing. Just enjoy using the language together. Come back and tell us how your child responded.

Why I Don't Worry When Children Answer in English
Parents apologize to me all the time. "They understand everything... they just answer in English." I don't panic. That tells me something important. Their brain already understands the language. Now we just have to help them feel comfortable using it. Those are two different skills. Speaking takes practice. Confidence takes repetition. Neither happens overnight. Today's challenge Instead of asking your child to repeat vocabulary, ask a real question. For example: ¿Qué quieres comer? Then wait. Give them a few extra seconds before helping. You might be surprised.

The Biggest Mistake Parents Make
Here's something I wish every parent knew. Many families wait until their child is "ready" ready to sit still ready to pay attention ready to understand But children don't become ready before they start; they become ready because they start. Think about walking. You didn't wait until your child had perfect balance before letting them try, and language works the same way. Don't wait for perfect pronunciation or until they know enough vocabulary. Let them try, because every attempt is building confidence. Today's challenge Ask your child one simple question in Spanish today, like “¿Cómo te sientes hoy?” (How do you feel today) Even if they answer in English, celebrate the interaction instead of correcting them, and tell us how it went. **Let me know if you need me to send a video on how to pronounce it in Spanish**
