What's the longest you've ever stuck to a diet before giving up?
Be honest. No judgment here. For most people it goes something like this: Monday: motivated, meal prepped, feeling unstoppable. Wednesday: a little tired but still going. Friday: one bad meal turns into a bad weekend. Monday again: "I'll restart next week." The cycle is so common it almost feels like the diet industry designed it that way. Because here's the thing. If you gave up, it probably wasn't because you lacked willpower. It was because the approach wasn't built to last. Drop your honest answer in the comments. How long did it last? πŸ‘‡

Difficult-Difficult
The things that actually change your health don't look like hard work. But they're the hardest things most people never do. Last week we talked about difficult-easy. The exhausting hamster wheel that feels like effort but goes nowhere. Today I want to talk about the other side. Difficult-difficult. Difficult-difficult is also uncomfortable. Sometimes even terrifying. But it's the stuff that actually promotes real, lasting change. And here's the surprising part. It rarely looks like what you'd expect "hard work" to be. Here's what difficult-difficult actually looks like: βœ… Slowing down and being mindful instead of rushing through everything βœ… Following a simple plan consistently, even when motivation disappears βœ… Carefully prioritizing what actually matters instead of doing everything at once βœ… Noticing and sitting with uncomfortable feelings instead of eating through them βœ… Being comfortable with mistakes and uncertainty instead of needing to be perfect βœ… Taking a recovery day when every part of you says you should be doing more βœ… Practicing self-compassion instead of self-criticism when things go wrong I encourage you to look at your daily activities and workload, and see what’s difficult-difficult. Can you shift your time, energy, and attention towards what’s challenging but rewarding, and away from activities that β€œdrain your tank” or waste your time, without giving anything back? πŸ‘‰ Which of these difficult-difficult things do you find hardest to actually do? Drop it in the comments below.

Difficult-Easy
Most people think they're working hard on their health. They are. But in the wrong direction. There's a concept I keep coming back to called ''difficult-easy''. Difficult-easy is the stuff we do that’s stressful, challenging, and/or irritating… but familiar. It’s our daily grind, or the pain that we recognize. Here's what difficult-easy looks like for most people trying to lose weight: ❌ being β€œbusy” ❌ starting yet another diet ❌ rushing, feeling frazzled, and over-booking their schedule ❌ feeling β€œpulled” or scattered with lots of demands and distractions ❌ feeling guilty, angry, and/or embarrassed about β€œfailing” or β€œscrewing up” ❌ beating themselves up with epic workouts ❌ self-criticism Sound familiar? The problem isn't that you're not trying. The problem is that all that effort is going into things that drain your tank without moving you forward. And the longer you stay on that hamster wheel, the more exhausted and discouraged you get. The good news? There's a way off it. But first, I want to know where you are right now. Which of these is your biggest difficult-easy? πŸ‘‡
