A Different Life by Wendy Lou Jones
Hi everyone, I would like to introduce you to one of my books that I recently adapted for film. It has been newly edited, recovered and now has an audiobook (in the US). A Different Life is a love story set in the English countryside, between a rich man and a poor woman. It is filled with heartache, family and fun. Think of it as a Cinderella story with a twist. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Different-Life-Echoes-Nutt-Hill-ebook/dp/B077F333SV

Hi everyone, I’m delighted to have this wonderful platform created by the very talented Lindsay, to introduce my children’s book, Pinecraft to you all.
A beautiful modern-day superhero tale about a friendship between a young boy and a clever beaver. Packed full of enriching vocabulary and important environmental issues, children will learn what an ecosystem is, what biodiversity means. Pinecraft is rich in humour and children will quickly identify with the characters and their day-to-day lives. Full synopsis Ten-year-old Josh Greenback lives in the idyllic village of Brookbrink, in northeast England. It is the first day of the school summer holidays and it begins to rain. Over the following days Brookbrink experiences flash flooding and the banks of the river Ahorn burst, flooding the whole village. Josh must leave his home and seek refuge in the community hall in the next town until the clean-up can begin. Josh’s mum Emma sends him to stay with his eccentric granny in Scotland, while the house gets dried out and repaired from the flooding. Pinecraft takes the reader on a wonderful trip to Ochtermuddy in Scotland. Whilst there, Josh meets a beaver called Timb. They quickly discover that although very different, they have many things in common, including the same hobby – building! Josh describes the Lego creations he has built over the years, and tells Timb about his favourite computer game, Minecraft. Timb can hardly believe the similarities, and describes his analogue version of Josh’s computer game, which the beavers call Pinecraft. And so begins a wonderful friendship, based on similarities and differences, and sharing skills, as well as lots of fun adventures together. The story has a surprising and delightful superhero ending. The attached viseo shows some of the inspiration behind a couple of the illustrations in the book. I hope you enjoy.

“A life once given up for lost — now a story that’s saving others.”
May I respectfully introduce 'Shadow of a Survivor?' At 18, he was told he wouldn’t survive cancer. What followed was an agonising battle through the wreckage of failed treatments, where hope flickered like a distant light. Eight years later, his four-year-old daughter was diagnosed with terminal leukaemia. She, too, endured the brutal toll of chemotherapy — and, like her father, she survived. She would go on to win two silver medals for Team GB at the 1998 World Swimming Championships in New Zealand. From the ashes of suffering, he rose — not just healed, but transformed. Returning to the very hospital that once sealed his fate, he became a senior cancer nurse specialist, guiding others through the same darkness he had once known. Now, fifty-one years on, he is one of the world's longest-living cancer survivors. His journey stretches from the thundering stages of rock festivals to the sacred lands of the Lakota Sioux Nation — from despair to healing — in a memoir that pulses with courage, compassion, and quiet triumph. “Shadow of a Survivor,” by John Walker Pattison, is more than an award-winning memoir. It’s a lifeline — a testament to resilience, to love, and to the fierce strength that can rise from suffering. www.johnwpattison.co.uk
