Offerings
At times I give dark rum offerings to my ancestors. My brother who passed was an alcoholic. I tell my brother, when presenting the rum offering that it is not for him. But at the same time I give him an offering of his favorite soda pop. I do the same thing when I give an offering of tobacco smoke. For my ancestors that I know who died from lung cancer due to smoking, I tell them that the tobacco is not for them but at the same time I give them a different offering that they enjoyed in life. Is it appropriate to tell an ancestor that a particular offering is not for them due to having had health issues surrounding it?
