Need prayers
Hello temple family! If anyone has seen the news recently, two earthquakes hit Venezuela a couple of days ago. The earthquakes happened on Osun’s feast day, which is pretty big for the Ifá community there. This hits home as my in-laws are in Venezuela. Many have lost loved ones, there are many people missing still, food is scarce, and many others are in need of medicine, hygiene products, and more. I ask that if you can, please pray for those affected. We need the Orishas and Eggun to give our Venezuelan brothers and sisters the strength to endure this situation, and the resilience to rebuild their country🤍
What's the difference between a personal misa and an ancestral reading?
Such a great question @Rosetta Cummings and I'm glad you asked because these two things are very different experiences. A personal Misa is a group spiritual ceremony rooted in Espiritismo. It is a collective gathering where mediums come together to work on your behalf. The spirits that come through in a Misa are not limited to your ancestors — you may receive messages from spirit guides, elevated spirits, or beings that have been walking with you that you weren't even aware of. A Misa is also a working — meaning the energy in the room is actively being used to pray for you, elevate spirits around you, and clear what needs to be cleared. It is ceremonial, it is communal, and it moves energy in a very tangible way. An ancestral reading is a one-on-one private session focused specifically on your ancestral line. It is a direct conversation — your reader sits with your ancestors and brings through what they want you to know. It is more intimate, more targeted, and more personal. There is no group energy, no ceremony around it — it is simply you, your reader, and your ancestors in direct communication. The focus stays on your bloodline, what they are saying, what they need, and what guidance they have for your life right now. Here is the simplest way to think about it: - A Misa is a ceremony that involves multiple mediums working together in spirit on your behalf - An ancestral reading is a conversation between you, your reader, and your specific ancestral lineage Both are powerful. They just serve different purposes. If you are looking to clear energy, elevate spirits, and receive messages from your broader spiritual court, a Misa is what you need. If you want to sit down and have a focused, direct conversation with your ancestors about what is happening in your life, an ancestral reading is your next step. If you would like to book an ancestral reading with me you can do so here: https://calendly.com/afefe-gotbaba/ancestor-reading-drafefe

Hi @Afefe Guzman Can we learn about our muerto in an ancestral reading? Like if we have a Mama Chola or Ma Francisca? @Rosetta Cummings great question!
Serving/Setting up Warriors
I wanted to get general feedback/insights on how you would be able to set up your warriors if you were moving into an environment where the space did not allow you to place them near your door or outside. For example, if you had roommates or were living with family members who were against the practice. Would you just place them near your bedroom door?

Hello! At one point, I was in a similar position and I kept them in my bedroom’s closet. I had a little space dedicated to them. I’m overprotective of them. I don’t want just everyone or anyone to see them. So if I invite people over that I don’t know too well, I still move them to a more private area. I would recommend to do what works for you to have a strong relationship with them.
Just a thought for today
My mom and I were talking about going fishing sometime this weekend. I brought up about when she would take me fishing with her at the river when I was younger and she said she remembers. There was one particular time when she did take me to the same river but this time I was sick. She took a white towel and dipped it in the water. After that she placed the towel on my head and told me to sit still. Everytime I go to Kansas I always go back to the same river bank because it feels like home. Any other lakes or rivers here in Texas I don't feel that same energy. Do different bodies of water have certain energies that can feel welcoming or the opposite when you visit?

June 2026 Livestream Notes
The Orisha of the month is Oyá. The Adimú of the month is an eggplant cut into nine pieces, sautéed in red palm oil, drizzled with honey, cover with colored sprinkles and offered to Oyá on a beautiful plate. Place the plate in front of Oyá on a mat. This month, the Eggun are at our doors. The ancestors, especially those who have passed away, are very present and active during this month. This is a month to honor them, listen carefully, and stay spiritually aware. In this Odu, we are told that mountains connect us with Obatalá. If you have the opportunity to go to a mountain, large hill, or elevated place, go there and pray for your mind, your health, and your wisdom. This is also a month where dreams may be very literal. If you dream of someone dying, do not dismiss it casually. Pay attention, pray, and take spiritual precautions. This Odu also speaks about movement, relocation, and housing. If you are looking to move, relocate, or buy a home, this can be a good month to do so. If possible, look for a home that has water nearby. Main Guidance, Warnings, and Spiritual Advice for June 2026 - Take care of your mental and emotional health. This month carries warnings around sadness, depression, and heavy thoughts. Anyone who is already prone to depression or emotional heaviness should be extra intentional about rest, prayer, support, and self-care. - Be mindful of suicidal thoughts or self-destructive choices. This Odu speaks about suicide, but Baba also explained that this can be physical suicide or the way a person “kills” their own destiny through poor choices, harmful actions, or repeated self-sabotage. Be careful not to harm yourself, your Ori, or your destiny. - The ancestors are working to protect their children. This Odu speaks of ancestors saving their descendants from death. The Eggun are very active this month and may be working to protect us, guide us, and save us from danger — including danger we may create for ourselves. - Pregnant women should take precautions. This Odu speaks of possible issues around pregnancy. Any pregnant woman in the community should consider getting a reading with Baba Victor to make sure everything is spiritually aligned and that the pregnancy is protected from complications.
