Spiritual Meaning
I’ve been praying consistently for a while now to my Ori and ancestors for guidance in my spiritual walk and feeling frustrated not knowing if I’m on the right path. Today I saw what I identified through Goggle 3 white tipped doves in front of my apartment. I could be wrong on the identification because these birds are native to Mexico and southern Texas. I’m in Indiana! I’ve never seen any type of dove in my area before. Could this be a possible sign from my ancestors or am I putting to much thought into this? It’s all I’ve been thinking about.

@Elegua Edwards Thank you!
Need prayers
Hello temple family! If anyone has seen the news recently, two earthquakes hit Venezuela a couple of days ago. The earthquakes happened on Osun’s feast day, which is pretty big for the Ifá community there. This hits home as my in-laws are in Venezuela. Many have lost loved ones, there are many people missing still, food is scarce, and many others are in need of medicine, hygiene products, and more. I ask that if you can, please pray for those affected. We need the Orishas and Eggun to give our Venezuelan brothers and sisters the strength to endure this situation, and the resilience to rebuild their country🤍

What Does Ifa Say About Soul Ties?
This post is in response to a question from @Josephine Gomez . The phrase “soul tie” is not a traditional Ifá term. So we do not want to force Ifá to use language that does not come from the tradition. But that does not mean Ifá has nothing to say about soul-ties. When most people say “soul tie,” they are usually describing a connection that feels heavy, hard to release, or difficult to understand logically. It may feel emotional, sexual, spiritual, or energetic. A person may feel tied to someone even when the connection is no longer healthy, peaceful, or aligned. From an Ifá perspective, the closest way to understand this is not to ask, “Is the connection with this person a soul tie?” The better question is: Is the connection with this person placing me in iré or osogbo? That is where Ifá gives us a clearer lens. Irè speaks to blessings, alignment, peace, elevation, and favorable spiritual conditions. Osogbo speaks to imbalance, difficulty, misfortune, disturbance, heaviness, or conditions that work against a person’s well-being and destiny. So while Ifá may not say, “This person has a soul tie,” divination may reveal that a person is in osogbo because of an affiliation, relationship, sexual connection, spiritual entanglement, emotional attachment, promise, vow, trauma bond, or harmful connection to another person. That matters. Because sometimes people really can become tied up in situations that disturb their Ori. Ori is a person’s destiny, spiritual head, inner consciousness, and personal alignment. When a connection to another person begins to disturb someone’s Ori, it may show up as confusion, heaviness, obsession, loss of peace, repeated conflict, emotional instability, spiritual tiredness, or the feeling that the person cannot fully return to themselves. This does not always mean witchcraft is involved. Sometimes the cause is emotional attachment. Sometimes it is sexual bonding. Sometimes it is trauma. Sometimes it is grief.

Thank you so much for this clear explanation! I so much appreciate your teaching and wisdom.
Evil Eye 🧿
I have a question in Ifá. What is Ifá's perspective on the evil eye? How is it understood within the tradition? Also, how can someone tell the difference between the effects of the evil eye and situations that are simply part of their spiritual growth? Sometimes life seems to bring unexpected obstacles, delays, or conflicts. How do we discern whether those experiences are the result of someone else's envy or negative intentions, or whether Òrìṣà, our ancestors, or our destiny are moving things around to develop our character, teach us a lesson, or redirect us? I know it's easy to blame everything on spiritual attacks, and I don't want to fall into that way of thinking. I'm trying to understand how Ifá teaches us to distinguish between these experiences while remaining grounded in good character (Ìwà Pẹ̀lẹ́). I'd love to hear your thoughts and any teachings. A dúpẹ́. 🙏🏾

Million + 1?: Throwing yourself at a Tambor
When is the appropriate time to throw yourself during a Tambor? Is it when they are drumming for your head Orisha?
