The Unit 1: Chemistry of Life Reading Guide and Student Workbook have now been updated and added to the course. Use the Reading Guide alongside the video lessons to strengthen your understanding, then complete the matching Workbook activities to practise AP-style thinking and scientific reasoning. The Workbook does not include an answer key, so post your attempted answers or questions in the lesson comments whenever you need support. Hi everyone! I’ve been working hard on new Unit 1 and Unit 2 Reading Guides and Workbooks to make the content easier to understand, build confidence with AP-style questions, and support you step by step. Both units are still works in progress, but I’m hoping to post Unit 1 by the end of this week. Your feedback, suggestions, and ideas are always welcome—we are building these resources together! My goal is to help every student in this group feel supported, grow in confidence, and believe that earning a 5 in AP Biology is easy! Let’s keep learning and improving together!

This unit covers the chemical foundation of biology, including water, elements of life, macromolecules, carbohydrates, lipids, nucleic acids, and proteins. Start with the How to Use This Unit page, download the Unit 1 Reading Guide, and then work through each video lesson in order. This is where AP Biology begins: structure explains function.
