Where Do We Get It From? -The Vitamin B1 (thiamin)-
Vitamin B1 is found in many foods, so deficiencies are rare. It's water-soluble and easily excreted, so there is no known excess or toxicity.
Note: B1 deficiency isn't common today, as many foods are fortified. But B1 deficiency is common with malnutrition and may contribute to symptoms of anorexia (especially over time as nutrient intake dwindles)
We get it from:
  • Beans and legumes
  • Sunflower seeds and tahini (seed paste)
  • Marmite
  • Nutritional yeast
  • Whole grains such as oats and barley. (Many cereals will also be fortified)
Do you know what could be the result if we are not getting enough? Let me know in the comments!👇
