Fiber and why not everything is black and white
There are 2 clearly distinctive views on fiber: we need it (omnivore, vegan) and we don´t need it at all (carnivore diet and keto to an extent).
And there are also some influencers with very specific ideas like: fermented foods are causing a lot of damage in our bodies or an alcaline diet cures you of reflux (these are concepts that often get mixed up: acidity vs ph, but psysiologically speaking it´s quite simple).
Do you need fiber at the end of the day? Well, suprisingly, not all of us need the same thing. Depending on our bodies, our medical conditions, we might need it or we are better without it for a period of time. What nutrition should be nowdays (when we do have access to a lot of information if we want to), from my point of view, is personlized guidance. Because what it works brilliantly for me, it might not be a fit for you.
