Me + ChatGPT = Therapy
I've been away from the group for the last month or so and am trying to catch up today while stuck in a waiting room while my mother-in-law has surgery. I thought I would share something creepy and amazing that happened a couple of days ago. Back story: I've been working with Chat to get my current business's backend up to standards instead of just winging it with ridiculously complicated, repetitive, half-assed spreadsheets, documents, and zero SOPs. I also began updating my socials with more recent images from our photo booth jobs, catchy content, and CTAs. All while trying to get my 2nd business online and going. Also, while life has been throwing some really shitty stuff my way. With all of this going on, I get on Facebook and see a device called Pocket. So small and pretty in different colors, and it records and transcribes at the touch of a button. I have clicked on it repeatedly for the last week or so, then talk myself out of it. So, a few days ago I had an idea... talk to Chat about the device to get pros and cons of spending the money on it. Right out of the gate, Chat says, "Let's break this down to what it REALLY means for you. Is this about a device, or is this about overwhelm? Are you forgetting things? Having organizational issues? Losing things? Missing appointments? Are you sure this isn't about you running a popular existing business, opening another business, taking care of and losing two dads and your mother, losing your oldest child, almost losing one of your pups last month on the 2nd day of vacation, and handling your mother-in-law's medical care?" We discussed how the device could help, and how other things I already have on hand (literally, my phone) can better help me to get my shit back together, instead of spending money on another device, when I'm trying to get more income in than out. It turns out I just needed a little therapy and to think more about my nervous system and my need to take better care of myself. Identify the tools I already own and pick ONE. Use it for two weeks and see if it helps with my overwhelm. Seems to be working better. I don't know why. I guess it's just that I calmed down and am dedicating 15 minutes per day to going through the phone memos, doing what is left, and moving what's not done into my day planner.

☕ Coffee Chat Highlights Real Talk About Business Pivots, Client Experiences & Building What Actually Works Quick wins from today's chat: On Knowing When to Pivot Sometimes the best pivot isn't the loudest one. @Aqleema Anwar shared how she's shifting from launch-focused work to backend systems and client journey mapping — recognizing that what clients actually need her to do is more valuable than what she thought she should be offering. The clarity? Watching a current client struggle with the exact problems she wants to solve. The "Free Training Client" Reality Check We talked about when it makes sense to over-deliver at a lower rate. Not because of self-worth issues (we see you) — but because sometimes a client becomes your living case study. The key? Being aware you're doing it, having an end date, and using it to build your actual offer. Self-awareness changes everything. Setting Boundaries With Clients Ever had a client do too much? Yeah. We covered why setting expectations up front matters — especially around who controls what. Your onboarding should clearly state what you're responsible for and what happens if boundaries blur. Otherwise, you're cleaning up messes you didn't make. From Property Management Burnout to Boundary Queen One story: I managed 7 Airbnb properties while getting nickel-and-dimed by owners who wanted premium results on budget vibes. The lesson? When you allow penny-pinching energy early, you create that reality. Once I owned my value, set clear terms, and boundaries, everything shifted. And every time I've let a bad-fit client go, someone better showed up. Why ChatGPT Projects > Notes App Stop using your Notes app as your idea dumping ground. Use ChatGPT Projects instead. Voice dump your idea, set a reminder for when you'll actually tackle it, and let AI organize it for you. One less thing to track manually. One more reason to actually do the thing. If you have no idea what Projects are or are interested in using them for more than organizing your chats, jump into the Mastering ChatGPT Workshop! It'll save your HOURS!
