's wonderful Mugs & Pages Skool room about judging a book by its cover...

My response was how I hated that ebooks and online sales do not treat book covers, spines, and backs with proper respect and that I missed the liner notes and album books that came with music albums and that CD's eventually got there but they were not as good.

I'm having focus issues this week.

Frustrated at work yesterday, so I left mid afternoon.

Exhausted but no time for a nap because I have to pickup the boy from school too soon

Visited the local library roaming the aisles. (I think i have more books than the general collection on more varied topics)

Found Interesting Book by Lee Childs about writing his Reacher series. Downloaded, added to TBR folder on phone

The children's section was larger and generally more interesting

I'm that long haired creepy old guy with no kids looking at kids books.

Fell asleep in chair at the library

woke up with a coupe ideas logged in Google Keep (never to be seen again)

Scroll forward to today:

dashboard and interactive use of the 141 ways book ( which already needs updating)

Activity Books, recipe books, children's books

Choices and options for probably transition of one book size/audience to different audiences or age groups of readers

Authors writing music and songs for their books

Video trailers

scene cinematics like game cut scenes

Books/Stories as packages... the prose is just a gateway...hrmmm

Liner notes for books

Authors note and backstory in each book

better linking to author resources an author sites...damnit webcrafter needs to be pushed up the timeline again

So What if it's not just a book but a whole package? This wouldn't work well for ebooks or would it? I remembered and dove onto my paperback shelf for some older books that had order forms printed in the back for other books the author wrote. Authors notes that told a story of their own about how the book was written and influences. Like him or not, Piers Anthony had some of the best authors notes at the back of his books, that were sometimes a more fun read than the books. Add links to other projects, offer your merch for the book, include a catalog!

If its an ebook length doesn't matter. Point the reader at the beginning of the book to be sure to read the author's notes at the end of the book for special offers or free items.
