But estate planning goes much further than deciding who receives your belongings after you die. Estate planning is the process of putting legal instructions in place to protect you, your family, your assets, your healthcare wishes, and your legacy during your lifetime and after your death. It answers important questions such as: Who can manage your finances if you become unable to handle them? Who can speak with doctors and make healthcare decisions for you? Who should have access to your medical information? Who will care for your minor children? Who receives your property, business interests, money, digital accounts, and personal belongings? Who will carry out your funeral and final wishes? How can you reduce confusion, family conflict, court involvement, delays, and unnecessary expenses? A complete estate plan may include: โ€ข A Last Will and Testament โ€ข A revocable living trust โ€ข A financial power of attorney โ€ข A healthcare power of attorney โ€ข A HIPAA authorization โ€ข A funeral representative designation โ€ข Property deeds โ€ข Guardianship instructions โ€ข Digital asset instructions โ€ข Business succession or ownership-transfer documents A will explains how you want certain property distributed and allows you to nominate guardians for minor children. However, a will generally must go through probate court and may become part of the public record. A trust can hold properly transferred assets, provide more control over when and how beneficiaries receive an inheritance, offer greater privacy, and help certain assets avoid probate. But a trust only works as intended when it is properly created, signed, funded, and maintained. Having the document alone is not enough. And doing nothing is still a decision. Without an estate plan, state law and the court may determine who receives your property and who has the legal authority to

A gem is the lesson. A gain is what happens when you turn that lesson into action. Today's gem is simple: You cannot build wealth and ignore protection. Health, care, privacy, safety, protection, mental health, wellness, and caregiver support are not side issues. They are part of the wealth plan. Because one unplanned crisis can drain years of work. So here is how we turn this gem into a gain. Step 1: Name the problem Pick the area where your family is most exposed right now. Do not pick what sounds impressive. Pick what is real. Maybe you need to review health coverage. Maybe you need life insurance. Maybe caregiving support is missing. Maybe privacy and safety need attention. Maybe mental health or wellness needs structure. Step 2: Turn it into a checklist Use this prompt in ChatGPT or Claude: Act as an insurance and family protection strategist. Help me create a simple 30-day checklist for my chosen insurance lane: ______. Focus on practical steps I can take to find gaps, organize information, ask better questions, and protect my family. Step 3: Take the first step Do not wait for the perfect plan. Your first checklist step may be: Find my current policy. Write down my questions. Call my agent. Create a family emergency folder. Ask who would manage care if something happened. Review what I am paying for. Identify what I do not have. Comment below: My first checklist step is ______. This is how we turn information into implementation. Do not just read this. Build the system. Find the leak. Fix the plan. Build the legacy.

I want to personally invite you to The Prescription for Relief Summit on July 25. This one is personal. I met Dr. @Vicki Hamilton through the Apps Built With AI program with Justin Burns - a Godsend community. @Gwen Arrington , Alexander Harris, Zakirra Smith itโ€™s like we are all apart of a mini โ€˜tech founderโ€™ family. What stood out to me was not just her brilliance. It was her heart, her clarity, and the way she carries her mission. She later came on my AI Legacy App Talk Live on February 17 and again on April 14, and both conversations confirmed something for me: Dr. Vicki is doing work that families truly need. Around that same season, I was in Kissimmee, Florida celebrating my 19th Deltaversary with my line sister. During that trip, we had one of those real conversations that stays with you. We talked about caregiving, responsibility, family, and what it feels like to carry so much while still trying to show up for everyone else. That conversation made something click. I knew @Ayanna Kilpatrick . I knew Dr. Vicki. And I knew they needed to meet. Why? Because both of them carry powerful caregiving stories. Real stories. Stories filled with love, pressure, sacrifice, responsibility, and purpose. When I connected them, I realized this was bigger than networking. This was alignment. Dr. Vicki has been authentically A-Mayzing. She has supported the AI Legacy Builders Circle community, supported Enyka and me as authors of our first book, Things They Do Not Tell You, and she is a founding member of the Building Wealth and Legacy With AI Movement. That is why this summit matters. The Prescription for Relief Summit is for caregivers, veterans, family decision-makers, professionals, and anyone carrying more than they should have to carry alone. This is not just another virtual event. This is a room for real tools, real support, and real relief. If you are carrying family decisions, caregiving pressure, veteran support challenges, emotional weight, or the responsibility of being the person everybody depends on, you need to be in this room.
