The 3 Types of WhatsApp Messages (and why replies stall)
Most WhatsApp messages fail not because they’re “bad”… but because they’re the wrong type of message. 🔇 1) NOISE What it does: Talks at someone. No direction. Sounds like: - “Just checking in…” - “Thought I’d reach out…” - Long and polite but vague Examples: “Hey hope you’re well, just thought I’d check in and see how things are going with you 😊” “Hi! Been meaning to message you, let me know when you’re free for a chat.” ✔ Usually read ❌ Rarely replied to 💬 2) CONVERSATION What it does: Invites a reply. Starts momentum. Sounds like: - Short - Clear - One easy question - No pitch Examples: “Quick one — are you still open to looking at ways to earn a bit extra, or is now not a good time?” “Can I ask, are you more focused on saving money right now, or increasing income?” ✔ Gets replies ✔ Opens dialogue ✅ 3) DECISION What it does: Moves things forward after they’ve engaged. Sounds like: - Calm - Confident - Two clear options Examples: “Based on what you said, would you prefer I send the details here or jump on a quick call?” “Do you want to look at this this week, or should we park it for now?” ✔ Creates clarity ✔ Stops endless chatting The simple rule Noise gets ignored. Conversation gets replies. Decision creates movement. 👇 Drop your last WhatsApp message (names removed). I’ll tell you which type it is — and how to improve it.
