The 3 Types of WhatsApp Messages (and why replies stall)
Most WhatsApp messages fail not because theyāre ābadā⦠but because theyāre the wrong type of message. š 1) NOISE What it does: Talks at someone. No direction. Sounds like: - āJust checking inā¦ā - āThought Iād reach outā¦ā - Long and polite but vague Examples: āHey hope youāre well, just thought Iād check in and see how things are going with you šā āHi! Been meaning to message you, let me know when youāre free for a chat.ā ā Usually read ā Rarely replied to š¬ 2) CONVERSATION What it does: Invites a reply. Starts momentum. Sounds like: - Short - Clear - One easy question - No pitch Examples: āQuick one ā are you still open to looking at ways to earn a bit extra, or is now not a good time?ā āCan I ask, are you more focused on saving money right now, or increasing income?ā ā Gets replies ā Opens dialogue ā
3) DECISION What it does: Moves things forward after theyāve engaged. Sounds like: - Calm - Confident - Two clear options Examples: āBased on what you said, would you prefer I send the details here or jump on a quick call?ā āDo you want to look at this this week, or should we park it for now?ā ā Creates clarity ā Stops endless chatting The simple rule Noise gets ignored. Conversation gets replies. Decision creates movement. š Drop your last WhatsApp message (names removed). Iāll tell you which type it is ā and how to improve it.
