Advertising in chatGPT
It was only a matter of time before this happened! I just received an email that we can now advertise directly in chatGPT, here’s a quick summary: OpenAI’s new advertising platform lets businesses run sponsored ads inside ChatGPT, reaching users while they are actively researching options, comparing products or services, and making decisions. What it offers Advertisers can use ChatGPT Ads Manager to: - Set campaign goals, budgets and targeting - Create ads manually or upload them in bulk via CSV - Monitor impressions, clicks and conversions - Edit campaigns and optimise performance over time The major selling point is context. Rather than relying only on search keywords, ChatGPT conversations can provide richer signals about what someone is trying to achieve, allowing ads to appear during relevant decision-making moments. How OpenAI says ads will work OpenAI emphasises that ads will be: - Clearly labelled as sponsored - Separate from ChatGPT’s actual answers - Subject to user controls over how data is used for advertising In other words, the advertiser does not pay to influence what ChatGPT recommends or says. The ad is presented as a separate sponsored placement alongside the conversation. Why this matters for small businesses This could become another intent-based advertising channel alongside Google Ads, Meta Ads and marketplace advertising. The difference is that businesses may reach someone while they are asking highly specific questions such as comparing providers, researching solutions or deciding what to purchase. The opportunity is potentially powerful, but it will likely reward businesses with: - A clear niche and offer - Strong landing pages - Helpful, trustworthy website content - Recognisable branding - Accurate product or service information - Good conversion tracking The platform is already showing early advertiser examples from brands including Best Buy, Lowe’s and VistaPrint, although the page does not publish detailed costs, targeting options or performance benchmarks yet.

AI for everyday life (beginner/new user level)
Today I did a presentation to my team at my part time job teaching them about AI and how they can use it in everyday life. It basically new/beginners level but I thought I’d share it here as well, sometimes we can see the wood through the trees and it’s nice to get back to basics! I’ll also post the prompt structure and examples in another post

🤖 July’s 10 Biggest AI & Digital Marketing Stories
July was one of the biggest months we’ve seen for AI. The race is no longer about who has the smartest chatbot. Instead, every major AI company is building assistants that can actually do the work—research, create, automate and manage tasks for you. Here are the biggest updates you should know about. 1️⃣ OpenAI released GPT-5.6 OpenAI introduced GPT-5.6 in three versions designed for different business needs, with major improvements in reasoning, AI agents and workflow automation. Why it matters: AI is becoming better at planning campaigns, analysing information and completing complex marketing tasks—not just writing content. 2️⃣ ChatGPT became a complete business workspace ChatGPT is quickly evolving into a platform where you can research, write, build websites, analyse data and automate tasks without constantly jumping between apps. Takeaway: Expect AI to replace more of your daily software stack. 3️⃣ Voice AI reached a whole new level Natural conversations, real-time interruptions and multilingual voice interactions became dramatically better. Think beyond chatbots. Voice assistants are becoming sales reps, coaches and customer support agents. 4️⃣ Meta doubled down on AI agents Meta announced more capable AI assistants across Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. For marketers: Customers will increasingly discover businesses through AI recommendations inside Meta’s apps. 5️⃣ AI agents became the biggest trend Every major company is now building AI that completes multi-step jobs instead of simply answering questions. Imagine saying: “Research my competitors, create my campaign, build the landing page, write my emails and schedule my posts.” That’s where we’re heading. 6️⃣ AI-generated images sparked more copyright discussion As image quality improves, businesses are paying closer attention to licensing, copyright and brand governance. Reminder: AI makes creating easier, but you’re still responsible for what you publish. 7️⃣ Businesses stopped chasing the “best model”

Relaunching workshops and classrooms
Hi all It’s two weeks today until the end of the month and come Aug 1 I’m planning to relaunch all my workshops and classroom, for this reason come 1 Aug this group will become paid membership for members joining 1 Aug onwards. What that means, you will still keep all your current access and will remain a free member unless you leave the group then if you wanted to rejoin you would do so on a paid membership tier! For current paid members you will remain on your current pricing for your membership lifetime. What this also means: you’ve got two weeks to let your friends who might be interested in this group so they can sign up and remain on free membership! Looking forward to kicking back into the workshops and classrooms and continuing to build new GPTs and AI Apps that we can use! Cheers Trish
