🎬Grok Bot + Descript Makes Editing Magic
I record in Descript (similar recording tools include Riverside, Camtasia, and Loom). Chip, my Grok Bot AI video editor, handles the editing and cleanup.
For beginner and novice editors, 1–2 hours of manual editing per minute of finished video can be a useful planning estimate, depending on the complexity. And that assumes you already know the tool’s features.
For this video, working with Chip took about 30 minutes total, including giving instructions in plain English and waiting for the edits to process.
During processing, I could do other things. I could even request changes from my phone.
That’s why this caught my attention.
In this Short, you’ll hear a real, unscripted conversation between my Grok Bot and me.
I asked Chip, which recording software I use. It explained that I record in Descript and that it pulls the project straight from there—no files for me to download.
The basic workflow:
  1. Connect your Descript account to Grok Bot.
  2. Record your video in Descript.
  3. Ask Grok Bot to make the edits.
💬 Give it instructions in plain English, like:
  • “Remove the pauses and false starts.”
  • “Cut the section where I repeat myself.”
  • “Remove the sentence that starts with…”
  • “Shorten the introduction so we get to the main point faster.”
For this video, Chip removed the pauses and false starts:
🎥 Original recording: 2:57
✂️ Final cut: 1:41
I gave the direction.
Chip made the cuts.
I reviewed the result.
