3 nodes. 0 missed urgent requests. That's what I built this morning.
Here's the problem I was solving:
A service business gets 20 new requests a week. 3 or 4 of them are time-sensitive — the client needs something within 7 days.
But they all land in the same inbox.
Same priority.
Same queue.
The urgent ones sit there until someone manually reads through and figures out which ones need immediate action.
By then it's too late to respond fast. And fast response is often the difference between winning and losing the client.
So I built this in n8n:
→ Web form captures the request + preferred date
→ One IF node checks: is this within 7 days?
→ Yes → Slack ping to the team immediately, flagged as urgent
→ No → routed to standard workflow
The team now sees urgent requests the moment they come in.
On their phones.
In Slack.
Before they've even opened a browser.
This is what AI automation actually looks like in practice — not robots replacing people, but a 3-node system making sure the right person sees the right thing at the right time.
